My soul's mission is to make a difference within this amazing world. To bring about more peace, more happiness and more equality in whatever way this plays out in my life. My strongest desire is for education to be accessible for everyone, particularly for girls living in areas of severe poverty. Supporting charities through sponsorships and donations (See Previous projects page) has been important to me over the past decades. However, I am now ready and excited to MAKE A DIFFERENCE through my own direct actions.
On 22nd Sept 2014, I travelled with the Shanti Mission to Chennai and to Vellore in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. For some of that time I stayed at the Sri Narayani Peedam in Malaikodi.
Between the 6th - 12th Oct 2014, and then again between Jan 2 - 18th 2015,I spent time in the local district of Vellore to visit a number of schools, including :
My goals were: to understand and experience educational settings in this part of India, develop relationships and potential projects with schools that may continue over time, and to see what support I may be able to offer.
I took an assortment of stationary items, art & craft materials, puzzles, games and educational resources with me.
I was so inspired by the town of Peedam, and the incredible projects already being undertaken by the gracious Sri Shakthi Amma, that I felt the calling to begin my own charity work and help these beautiful souls in rural India. Hence, the Help-A-School Foundation was founded and my project work began.
Om Namo Narayani
If you also feel the desire to help me with this vision, please contact me or donate below to one of the projects. xx
