I have just returned from another amazing visit to Vellore in India, Once again I had the privilege and pleasure to spend time at Sri Narayani Vidylala and Sri Narayani Vidyashram schools to learn more about the school, interact with students and teachers in the classes and join in many interesting school festival activities.

I was very pleased to meet the 12 teachers who are going to participate in the Schools Connect Program with teachers from South Australian schools this year. Each teacher received a pack of resources to help them with the project involvement including: pencils, textas, crayons, paper, stamped envelopes, a USB each, plus  a camera with video capability for the school.

The schools also received 10 laptops complete with  carry bags and the Australian - Indian power adapters! They were very excited and grateful for these additions to their school resources which will extend the capabilities of teaching and learning across the school.

It was such a heartfelt joy to be able to provide these items to the teachers and schools. I am full of excitement about the Schools Connect program and the cross-cultural learning that will be possible between the schools. To support the program, my next 3 blogs will feature on different aspects to getting to know the school environment, the community and the festivals and celebrations in Indian schools.
